Island Palm Communities Grant

The Oahu SPCA was recently honored at a special luncheon in January as one of the recipients to receive a community grant of $1000 from Island Palm Communities LLC.  Each year, the organization selects two recipients with the criteria that the non-profit group chosen must be  from an organization that one of their  employee volunteers with the goal of encouraging social responsibility and recognizing those who give back to the community.  On behalf of the staff and volunteers and all the animals at the shelter, we extend our gratitude and warmest mahalo to volunteer Mara Hollaway (third from left) who also received recognition during the check presentation on Friday.  Janet O'Connor (second from the left) was on hand to represent the Oahu SPCA.

To add more great news to this event, the dogs featured at the luncheon - Bambi and Carrie - have since been adopted.
